The San Antonio Boys

Do you know a San Antonio Boy? You probably don't know it, but I bet you do. We are a diverse group of guys who grew up in one place when we were in our teens and twenties.... Yup, San Antonio Village, Pasig City!!!
A lot has happened since, although when we do hook-up, once in a truly blue moon, I could not help but notice that we did cover a lot of social ground. Its like that thing with Kevin Bacon. Nah.....o sige....close. I do not wish to divulge our age, but to have some idea as which generation we belong to, I have to give some approximation.....I do not want to offend some of my barkadas (who are still in denial), but we are in our middle THIRTIES, plus or minus three years......So there....i admit, I still could not tell the difference between techno and house, but do not challenge me to name-that-new-wave-tune.
You should ask your hubby if he lived in San Antonio during the 70's and 80's...Well back then Pasig was just a province of Rizal and Ortigas Center was just a big shrub in Metro Manila. In fact, it was a good place to look for "gagambang talahib". I remember getting up early in the morning to jog with the guys in ortigas (jogging "kuno"), but it was just actually one big picnic for us. Everybody would chip-in their pandesal and palaman. Damn, I miss those days..... I remember going to Greenhills to play pacman and galaxian at Ding Dong. It was all "porma" back then, so it was a necessity to have your Sperry Top-siders while you chow down on that siopao from Choc-full-of-nuts (Ei! did you know that store is still there). You know what's wierd, Greenhills is a lot different now, but the sampaguita girls are slill there. I guess the "Marcos to Cory to Ramos to Erap to Gloria" did not really affect change. OK.....so i'm deviating from the topic.....Hey, I'm just thinking out loud.
Back to SAB (San Antonio Boys). The question is, where are the boys now? I wish I could give out names, but that might intrude to their privacy. I'll stick na lang to a vague description of our barkada. I do not think our individual selves is really that interesting, but our collective experiences as young adults is something you can truly relate to. It's just a universal friendship that's common to most of us.....am I making sense?....Just bear with me.....I'm writing under the influence.....Alright!!! Anyways, there are no borders in our friendship. No matter where we are or who we are . To be continued......
